Controller does not return to zero:
This is typical a mechanical problem with the scale. Check in the following areas that can affect
the scale.
Check for bad Load cell – Check ohms or each load cell to see if in proper spec. Check
Chart.
Check Load Cell Connections:
Check alignment of load cell so the weight is pushing straight down and not on an angle.
Adjust or align as required.
Load cell could be loose. Adjust and re- tighten as required
Binding on the dust collection (filler head) area.
Possible buildup of material between the filler head and the dust collector pipe.
Check for influences from airlines that may be too tight pulling on the scale.
Check for loose bolts on the load cell: Inspect and tighten as required.
Check load cell feet to make sure that all 4 feet are firmly touching the floor.
Erratic weights
Erratic material flows from supply bin
Not maintaining consistent head pressure above the packer causing inconsistent flow to
the impeller
Controller dribble setting is too close to the final cutoff setting. Increase dribble setting.
Mechanical dribble setting on slide gate is open too far. Adjust the sensors on slide gate
cylinder.
Loose Load Cell- Inspect and adjust as needed.
Bad Load cell – Check Ohms on each load cell to see if they are in spec. Check against
chart

Digital readout does not match the floor scale.

Recalibrate scale
Binding on load cells – one to another
Adjust pre-act in controller. Target, Preact, Dribble.
Depends on the controller the equipment is equipped with. Some controllers have a
feature called offset compensation which allows you to adjust the packer scale to the
floor scale. If so, adjust offset compensation.
