CAN Interface
The dual Controller Area Network (CAN) interface is equipped with two MCP2542 transceivers. The MCP2542 is a
high-speed CAN transceiver that provides the interface between the CAN protocol controller and the physical two-
wire bus. Input/output signals from the transceiver are connected to a screw connector (J6).
3.2.8.9.1 Normal Mode
A low level on the STBY pin (PB25) together with a high level on pin TXD selects the Normal mode. In this mode, the
transceiver is able to transmit and receive data via the bus lines.
3.2.8.9.2 Standby Mode
A high level on the STBY pin (PB25) selects Standby mode. In this mode, the transceiver is not able to transmit or
receive data via the bus lines. The transmitter and the high-speed comparator are switched off to reduce the power
current consumption.
