Service Training
- Install the steering knuckle arm (1) and insert the retaining screw (7).
- At first torque the retaining screw (7) only to 120 - 150 Nm so that the rollers in the tapered roller bearings
can come into alignment.
- Move the axle body through the full swivel range several times so that the rollers in the tapered roller
bearings can become aligned.
- Tighten the retaining screw (7) to the full torque of 1100 Nm.
NOTE:
The steering axle of the E 20 truck has two retaining screws, each of which must be torqued
to 295 Nm.
