Note: The LEDs on these units are also used to indicate alarm information at other sites. Verify that the local
shelf is the source of the alarm by checking that the NE ACT LED is lit red and the FE ACT LED is off. To
select the local shelf, repeatedly press the FE SEL button on the MP1A unit until a decimal shows in the EQPT
NO. window.

Color
A critical (service-affecting) alarm exists on or has been detected by the local
network element.
Normal operation.
A major (service-affecting) alarm exists on or has been detected by the local
network element.
Normal operation.
A minor (non–service-affecting) alarm exists on or has been detected by the
local network element.
Normal operation.
An abnormal condition, such as a forced switch.
Normal operation.
Housekeeping 1 alarm is on (HK1).
Normal operation.
(Near-end activity) The failure LEDs displayed on the AW1A front panel
refer to alarms reported by the local shelf.
Normal operation.
(Far-end activity)= The failure LEDs displayed on the AW1A front panel
refer to alarms reported by the shelf with the ID number indicated by the
EQPT. NO. (7-segment LED) display on the MP1A unit.
Normal operation.
Pressing the ACO (alarm cutoff) button turns off the visual and audible
office alarms.
Normal operation.
Lights green for 90 seconds when this station is called by another station.
Normal operation.
