Performing the Service
Procedures
1.
Inspect the brakes; refer to
Brakes (page
55).
2.
Service the air cleaner; refer to
Cleaner (page
46).
3.
Grease the sprayer; refer to the
(page
45).
4.
Change the crankcase oil; refer to
Engine Oil (page

Check the air pressure in the tires; refer to

Preparing the Engine and
Battery
1.
For storage over 30 days, prepare the fuel
system as follows:
A.
Add a petroleum based
stabilizer/conditioner to fuel in the
tank.
Follow mixing instructions from stabilizer
manufacturer. Do not use an alcohol based
stabilizer (ethanol or methanol).
Note:
A fuel stabilizer/conditioner is most
effective when mixed with fresh gasoline
and used at all times.
B.
Run the engine to distribute conditioned fuel
through the fuel system (5 minutes).
C.
Shut off the engine, allow it to cool, and
drain the fuel tank.
D.
Start the engine and run it until it stops.
E.
Choke the engine.
F.
Start and run the engine until it does not
start again.
G.
Dispose of fuel properly. Recycle as per
local codes.
Important:
stabilizer/conditioned fuel over 90
days.

Remove the spark plugs and check their
condition; refer to
(page
49).
3.
With the spark plugs removed from the engine,
pour 2 tablespoons of engine oil into the spark
plug hole.
4.
Use the electric starter to crank the engine and
distribute the oil inside the cylinder.

Install the spark plugs and tighten to
recommended torque; refer to

Remove the battery from the chassis, check
the electrolyte level, and charge it fully; refer to

battery posts during storage.

Preparing the Machine

1.
Check and tighten all bolts, nuts, and screws.
Repair or replace any part that is damaged.
2.
Check the condition of all spray hoses, replacing
any that are damaged or worn.
3.
Tighten all hose fittings.
4.
Paint all scratched or bare metal surfaces. Paint
is available from your authorized Toro distributor.
5.
Store the machine in a clean, dry garage or
storage area.
6.
Remove the ignition key and put it in a safe
place out of the reach of children.
7.
Cover the machine to protect it and keep it clean.
