Faults

The BEA 040 features a "Power-on self-test
function". The functions of the BEA 040 are checked
on application of the operating voltage via the
power supply unit. If the status LED (Fig. 1, item 1)
lights (red) after 2 seconds, the power supply is OK
and the "Power-on self-test" has been successfully
completed. Any faults in the BEA 040 are indicated
by intermittent red flashing of the status LED.

In the event of speed measurement problems with
the BEA 040 on a vehicle or motorcycle, connect the
BEA 040 to a different vehicle/motorcycle to check
its operation.

Check correct configuration of the MTM device type
in the CDC if there is no speed display.
