Chapter 5: Configuring the G350
The G350 requires software configuration. The G350 can be configured using:
The Avaya Installation Wizard (Avaya IW). Avaya IW is a wizard that prompts you for all
●
configurations required to complete the installation of the G350. Avaya IW is used only to
configure a G350 with an S8300. See
(Avaya IW)
The Gateway Installation Wizard (GIW). The GIW is a wizard that prompts you for all
●
configurations required to complete the installation of the G350. You can run GIW to
configure a G350 without an S8300. See
Wizard (GIW)
The Avaya G350 Command Line Interface (CLI). The CLI is a comprehensive tool for
●
configuring the gateway and includes all supported configuration tasks. For information
about configuration using the CLI, see Administration for the Avaya G250 and Avaya G350
Media Gateways, 03-300436. For detailed information on CLI commands, see the Avaya
G350 CLI Reference, 03-300437.
The G350 can be accessed:
At the customer site via a laptop connected to the of the G350.
●
From a remote location via a modem. For information about connecting and enabling a
●
modem, see
Remotely through the network. For information about preparing a newly installed G350 for
●
configuration via the network, see
Configuring basic gateway connectivity
You can run an installation script on a newly installed gateway to configure the basic network
parameters required to achieve network connectivity. A remote technician can then further
configure the gateway as required. Note that the installation script does not require running any
CLI command.
Note:
The installation script is supported from branch gateway firmware version 29.22.x.
Note:
1. Connect the flat RJ-45 to RJ-45 cable to the DB-9 cable adapter.
2. Plug the RJ-45 cable into the G350 Console port.
3. Plug the DB-9 end of the cable into a COM port of the laptop.
