3. Components of a MiSPHERE system

3.1 MiSPHERE unit

Introduction MiSPHERE unit
The MiSPHERE unit consist in one intelligent full color pixel sheltered in a semi transparent ruggedized housing. This ruggedized
housing has a IP65 rating and is self supporting. The MiSPHERE unit has an input connector at the top side and an output connector
at the bottom side of the capsule. These sockets enable to connect the MiSPHERE units with each other in a daisy chain manner
using a short link cable. This way, up to 64 MiSPHERE units can be connected with each other forming one MiSPHERE string. A
MiSPHERE curtain (display) can be created by suspending several of these MiSPHERE strings next to each other. Each MiSPHERE
unit acts as a pixel within the curtain.

Remember that the side with the male connector is the top side of the MiSPHERE unit. This is of importance
when creating a MiSPHERE string.
Cables and accessories used with the MiSPHERE unit
A link cable (image 3-4) and a safety steel cable (image 3-5) are used to connect two MiSPHERE units together. A long primary
cable (image 3-7) is used to connect the first MiSPHERE unit in the chain with one of the output ports of the MiSPHERE control box.
Futhermore, a long safety steel cable (image 3-8) is used to suspend the whole MiSPHERE string. This long safety cable has to be
attached with the uppermost MiSPHERE unit. At last, a MiSPHERE end cap (image 3-6) is used to seal up the output socket of the
last MiSPHERE unit of each string. Note that the same end cap can be used to seal up an unused output port of the MiSPHERE
control box.
