3. Monitoring and Configuring the Machine
• Specify whether to obtain the DNS server address from the DHCP server or use the address
set by a user.
• To obtain the DNS server address from the DHCP server, specify "dhcp". To use the address
set by a user, specify "static".
Domain name selection
msh> dhcp "interface_name" domainname {dhcp|static}
• Specify whether to obtain the domain name from the DNS server or use the domain name set
by a user.
• To obtain the domain name from the DHCP server, specify "dhcp". To use the domain name
set by a user, specify "static".
DHCP Option 204 configuration and display
Use the following command to display the current setting.
msh> dhcp 204
Use the following command to configure DHCP Option 204.
msh> dhcp 204 {on|off}

dhcp6

Use the "dhcp6"command to display or configure DHCPv6 settings.
View settings
The following command displays the current DHCPv6 settings.
msh> dhcp6
DHCPv6 configuration and display
msh> dhcp6 {ether} {on|off}
Viewing and specifying operation mode for parameter acquisition
msh> dhcp6 mode {router|dhcpv6|dhcpv6lite}
Viewing and specifying the ID for the IPv6 address
msh> dhcp6 iaid {0–4294967295}
• A value entered here ranges from 0 to 4294967295.
Viewing and specifying RFC compliant/noncompliant domain name
msh> dhcp6 encode rfc {on|off}
Viewing and specifying DNS server address selection (obtained from the dhcpv6 server/user
specified value)
msh> dhcp6 dnsaddr {dhcp|static}
