Operating procedure

Before using the column lift, make certain that:
• the floor where the column lifts are set up is capable of supporting the setup and
the vehicle,
• the installation has taken account of the need for an escape route at least 24"
wide on all sides of the setup,
• the maximum load on each column will not exceed 18,000 lbs for the ST 1082
models or 22,000 lbs for the ST 1100 models,
• the lifting system is perfectly vertical, when viewed both from the front and the
side,
• the maximum permissible wind speed (see
hoisted" on page
• the pallet lifting mechanism is set to the bottom position.

5.5.1 Preparation

1.
If necessary, fit wheel adapters to the forks of the column lifts. Or slide the forks to
the correct distance; see section
page
32.
2.
Setup the required number of column lifts.
3.
Ensure that the fork of each column lift is extended as far as possible under the
wheel.
4.
Lower the pallet lifting mechanism by pulling on the lever that is located on the inside
of the drawbar.
5.
Ensure that the mains switch on the control box of the master column(s) is set to 0
(OFF).
6.
Connect the connection cables between the column lifts in a closed circuit.
7.
Connect the power supply cable to a suitable power supply outlet.
8.
Ensure that the emergency shut-down buttons on all column lifts are free.
9.
Set the mains switch on the control box of the master column to position 1 (ON).
10.
Press the <SELECT> button. Check whether the <ALL> indicator is lit.
11.
Check the mechanism safeguard by pressing the UNLOCK button (6) a few times.
You should clearly hear the noise of the pawls.
