18. Materials
The camera makes a noise when it is turned on.
This is the noise of the dust reduction function working (l 571); it is not a

malfunction.
There is rattling noise from the lens when the camera is turned on or
off, or when the camera is swung.
There is a sound from the lens when recording.
This is the sound of the lens moving and aperture operation. It is not a malfunction.

A red light sometimes turns on when the shutter button is pressed
halfway.
In dark places, the red AF assist light (l 401) turns on to make it easier to focus on

a subject.
An unreadable language was selected by mistake.
Reselect the language from the menu using the following procedure:

The camera becomes warm.
The camera surface and back of the monitor may become warm during use, but this

does not indicate a problem with performance or quality.
The clock is wrong.
When the camera is left for a long time, the clock may reset.
