Problem
No ignition: cranks,
but does not start;
fuel solenoid energized.
Failure to stop.
Engine stops.

Probable Cause
1. F aully fueling system.
1. STOP switch failure.
2. Fuel solenoid
will not de-energize.
1. Low oil pressure or
overheated.
2. Low oil pressure
switch opens.
3. High temperature
switchs open at too
low a temperature.
(water temperature)
(exhaust temperature)
4. 2D-Amp circuit breaker
tripping.

Verification/Remedy
1. Check for fuel to generator
engine.
2. Check for air in fuel system.
Bleed point on filter.
3. Fuel lift pump faully.

only the PREHEAT switch.)
1. Stop engine by depressing
emergency STOP switch on
engine or manually moving
the shut off lever on the
injection pump side. Test
switch with ohmmeter.
2a. Manually unplug the 12 Volt
connection to the solenoid
at the injection pump.
2b. Loosen high pressure
injector lines at each
injector.
Beware of fuel spray.
1.
Check oil level; check fresh
and sea water cooling.
2. Check for satisfactory
operation with switch
bypassed.
Check with ohmmeter.
3. Check for satisfactory
operation with switch
bypassed. Check with an
ohmmeter.
4. Check for high DC
amperage draw during
operation. Ensure switch is
not overly sensitive to heat
which would cause tripping.
