Engine 12-VoH DC Control ClrcuH
The Westcrbeke 15.0 W BTDA generator has a 12-vott DC electrical run/control circuit, as
shown on wiring diagram #036411. Refer to this diagram when troubleshooting or servicing
electrical components on the engine.
Know the functioning of the three switches in this DC circuit to better understand the opera-
tion and fautts these switches can pose in this circuit. Refer to • Automatic Shutdown" text
found in paragraph 4.13 to understand the oprating characteristics of the three switches.

I
Never Shut Off the Engine Battery Switch While the Engine Is Running
To avoid damage to the battery charging circuit, never shut off the
engine battery switch while the engine is running. Shut off the engine
battery switch, however, to avoid electrical shorts when working on the
engine's electrical circuit.
Battery Specification
The minimum recommended capacity of the battery used in the engine's 12-volt DC control
circuit is 100 - 150 ampere-hours (minimum).
NOTE: Cold cranking amerage reqiurments are 250 - 280 amps.
