Chapter 4 Installation of the Emulation System

4 Installation of the Emulation System

This chapter describes, what should be considered and checked before power-up the
emulation system. Also the start-up procedure of the emulation system is described.
In order to properly install the emulation system, please follow the following steps.

4.1 Providing a Clock Source

The adapter board can be equipped with two clocks, a main and a sub clock. The following
figure depicts who to install the crystal and the capacities for the main clock in connector
SC30. The same applies analogously for the sub clock in connector SC31.
Figure 1: Installing the crystal for the main clock
The crystal for the main clock has a frequency of 4 MHz and the crystal for the sub clock has
a frequency of 32 kHz. The capacity of the capacitor should be 22 pF.

4.2 Checking the Jumpers

Rule 2: To prevent damages, check all jumpers and switches before powering up the
emulation system.
Jumpers of the MB91V460 adapter board (MB2198-300) and all jumpers of the evaluation
board SK-91460-MAIN V1.2 or SK-91F467D-208PFV and the probe cable PB-91467D-
208PFV influencing the adapter board are described in chapter 5.
