Step-by-step procedure (the first 5 steps have to be made just the first time):
1) Start DeltaLog2.
2) Connect the minidatalogger serial cable to the serial port of the PC.
3) Connect the minidatalogger to the PC by pressing Connect on DeltaLog2 commands bar. If it is
the first time that you carry out this operation, register the new instrument as explained at page
54.
4) Press Instrument Setup to get into the Setup and set sampling interval (Sample time), start mode
(Start Mode), alarms, if required, (press the Reset key near each LED to clear prior alarms); then
select "Endless loop memory". Press Apply All to confirm.
If you set a stop date prior to the start one, the instrument will go on logging data and, when no
space is available anymore, it will overrun the oldest data.
If, on the contrary, the stop data is subsequent to the start one, the instrument will stop logging
when that date is reached.
This kind of logging works similarly to chart recorders. The minidatalogger
memory can be compared with a complete turn of the chart roll. If logging
starts at Ti1 instant, not to loose useful data, you just have to dump data be-
fore Ti1 goes beyond To, as you can seen in the drawing aside in corre-
spondence with n°1 pen.. If, on the contrary, as in the second case, Ti2
starting instant goes beyond To, the data contained in the darker rectangle
from Ti2 to To, will be overrun and thus can't be recovered. Every time
you dump data, the memory will be entirely available again for new log-
gings: it is as if a new sheet were applied to the chart recorder.
