Connecting to a PC

The minidatalogger can be connected to a PC having a Windows operating system through a proper
serial cable; DeltaLog2 software controls the instrument different functions directly from PC. You
can, for example:
Program data acquisition intervals
Dump data contained in the minidatalogger memory
View data in graph or tabular format
Program alarm set-points for each input channel
Set a safety code (password) to protect data
To connect the PC to the minidatalogger, use the provided HD206/54 serial cable. The connector at
the base of the instrument is used to connect either the serial cable or the probes equipped with cable;
HD206-2 and HD226-2 have an additional connector, inside the instrument, necessary to connect the
serial cable when you have to make the relative humidity calibration of the temperature/humidity
combined probe.
The HD 206/54 serial cable is provided with a 9-pole connector: if the PC is equipped with a 25-pole
connector, use a 9-pole/25-pole adaptor.
When Should the Built-in Connector be Used?
The built-in serial connector has to be used when you have to make the calibration of the relative
humidity probe. To make the connection, open the rear side of the instrument, insert the serial con-
nector and align it properly with the arrow near the connector. (See how to open the instrument in the
paragraph concerning battery replacement).
