Notes and Restrictions on Using the Machine

Installing and Moving the Machine
When moving the machine, contact your Fuji Xerox Customer Support Centre.
Do not jolt the body while the machine is operating.
Do not place things close to the ventilation openings of the extractor fan of the
machine.
Cautions on Operating the Machine
Do not turn off the power breaker (main power switch) immediately after switching it
on. It may result in damage of the hard disk and memory as well as malfunctions.
Do not leave the upper unit open for more than ten minutes. It may result in deteri-
oration of the image quality.
For Switching Off
After switching the power on, do not switch it off until the screen is displayed.
Loss of power or switching the machine off will result in the loss of any remaining
print data or spooled information in the machine memory.
Before switching off the power during normal operation ensure that all data stored in
the memory is processed.
Before you turn the power back on after turning it off, wait at least 5 seconds after
the power is turned off.
Turning the power on and off continuously will result in a failure to start or stop the
machine properly. In this case remove the power cord from the socket and then
reconnect the plug to the socket and restore the power before switching the
machine back on again.
Managing the Machine
The supervisor of an organization who is responsible for the use and management of
the machine must comply as follows:
Designate an appropriate system administrator for the machine, and provide super-
vision and education.
Inside of the network to which the machine equipped with Data Security Kit is con-
nected, install a device that prevents the machine from being bugged, and configure
the network setting appropriately so as not to be bugged.
Install a device such as a firewall to block access to the inside of the network to
which the machine is connected from the external network.
