n Operating Procedures
This chap ter ex plains how to start and run the ma -
chine. Read and un der stand all the pre vi ous chap -
ters be fore you be gin to operate the ma chine
n Control Stations
the ma chine can be started and op er ated from the
ground con trol box or from the plat form con trol box.
IMPORTANT
The ground control box can override the
platform control box at any time. If a person
operating the machine from the platform
becomes incapacitated, a person on the
ground can always take over machine
control.
DANGER
The S3970RT / S3370RT / S2770RT is not
Electrically insulated.
Death or Serious Injury to operating
personnel, can occur if the machine should
come into contact with energised electrical
wires during operation.
DO NOT attempt to operate the S3970RT /
S3370RT / S2770RT ground controls if the
platform, scissor assembly or any other
conducting part of the machine is in contact
with energised electrical wires or if there is
an immediate danger of such contact.
NOTE
See the Electrical Hazard section, in this manual
for a complete explanation of the hazards
concerning electricity.
n Emergency Stopping
WARNING
When the platform/ground key selector
switch is set to
GROUND
control box is INOPERATIVE including the
Emergency Stop.
To stop the ma chine from the ground con trol box,
push the Emer gency Stop switch, at any time and
the en tire ma chine stops and noth ing moves.

To stop the ma chine from the platform con trol box,
push the Emer gency Stop switch, at any time and
the en tire ma chine stops and noth ing moves.
Note
In or der for the Emer gency Stop Switch to have
an effect at the plat form, the plat form/ground key
se lec tor switch must be set on plat form.

n Operation Considerations
To use this chap ter, first de cide whether you will be
start ing and op er at ing the S3970RT / S3370RT /
S2770RT from the ground con trol box or the plat -
form con trol box.
