3. Configure your laptop:
Turn on the power to the management device. Start your asynchronous

terminal emulation application (such as Microsoft Windows
Hyperterminal) and select the appropriate COM port to use (for
example, COM1).
Configure the port settings as follows:

- Bits per second: 9600
- Data bits: 8
- Parity: None
- Stop bits: 1
- Flow control: None
4. Log in to the router with the root login and password. If a password has
not been established, leave the password field blank.
5. At the root prompt (%), enter cli.
6. At the cli prompt (>), enter configure.
7. At the configure prompt (#), enter the following:
