7.3 Configuring MAC Filter

This procedure introduces how to configure MAC filter settings to permit or deny the packets with the
specific MAC addresses to access the Internet.
Context
MAC
filter aims at the user-side LAN, that is, the upstream data flow.
Steps
1. On the navigation tree, click [Security→ MAC Filter]. The MAC filter configuration page is
displayed, see

by configuring the MAC address, protocol, and the connection type.
Description
Enable the IP filter function.
Select the protocol that needs to filter packets. By
default, it is TCP.
Name of the IP filter rules
Range of source IP address
Range of destination IP address
Range of source port
Range of destination port
Data flow direction
The ingress and egress cannot be the same
The mode can be Discard or Permit.
37. On this page, you can specify to discard or permit the data packages
If the ingress is LAN and egress is ADSL, the data
flow is upstream.
If the ingress is ADSL and egress is LAN, the data
flow is downstream.
