To adjust the horizontal (time/div) scale
Turn the large knob marked
to change the horizontal time/div (sweep speed) setting.
You can also make this adjustment using the touchscreen. For example, in the image below, the
user touched the 200.0 us/ indicator to open the horizontal scale and delay dialog. The time/div
information in the status line changes when you adjust the scale.
The horizontal scale knob works with both running and stopped acquisitions. When running,
adjusting the horizontal scale knob changes the sample rate. When stopped, adjusting the
horizontal scale knob lets you zoom into acquired data.
To adjust the horizontal delay (position)
Turn the horizontal delay (position) knob (
) to set a nonzero delay, or push the horizontal
delay knob to reset the delay to zero. The trigger point moves horizontally, pausing at 0.00 s
(mimicking a mechanical detent), and the delay value is displayed in the status line. You can also
make this adjustment by dragging the waveform horizontally on the touchscreen or by entering
the Main Delay as shown in the previous section.
Changing the delay time moves the trigger point (solid inverted triangle) horizontally and
indicates how far it is from the time reference point (hollow inverted triangle). These reference
points are indicated along the top of the display grid.
Events to the left of the trigger point happened before the trigger and are called pretrigger
events. Everything to the right of the trigger point is posttrigger information. The range of
permissible delay values depends on the time/div selected.
The horizontal position knob works with both running and stopped acquisitions.
