Mathematics of CWA Measurements

The instrument supports several dozen types of measurements based on Continuous Whole-
Cycle Analysis. Some of these are basic measurements of voltage, current, and power, and
others are measurements of grouped signals. This section specifies what measurements are
available in various configurations, and how those measurements are computed.

Basic Voltage and Current Measurements

The Type softkey on the Measurement Menu includes eight
voltage or current measurements based on Continuous
Whole-cycle Analysis (CWA). The icons are shown in the blue
color that is used throughout the user interface to indicate
CWA measurements.
Note that the items in the image above all refer to voltage in
this case. This means that the selected source is a voltage
signal. If the selected source is a current signal, all eight items
will refer to current instead of voltage.

Basic Power Measurements

If the selected source is a power signal, you can choose from
the following CWA measurements.
