POLLING

The polling facility enables one fax machine to request the transmission of a document at a preset time
from a remote fax machine.
The party who makes the polling request must:
Make arrangements with the remote party regarding the time that the document is to be polled, so that
he/she may insert the document in the remote machine at the right time.
Set his/her fax machine to receive a document, programming the
dialling method to be used to call the remote machine and the time at
which the document is to be received. These parameters are to be
programmed from the POLLING RX menu.
The party transmitting the document to be polled must:
Insert the document in his/her fax machine before the polling call so
that it is ready for automatic transmission. The parameters for this
operation are to be programmed from the POLLING TX menu.
Polling conditions common to both parties:
Transmission may take place without requiring the presence of either party.
The call will be charged to the party who receives the document (who makes the polling request), not
the party who sends the document.
Needless to say, either fax machine may make the polling request or send the polled document.
Important:
The following charts show an example of polling communication from the standpoints of the person
making the polling request, who will therefore receive the polled document, and the person who makes
the transmission of the polled document.
Although the two charts are separate, they are strictly related so you should read them both.
