SAMPLE SCRIPT
Moving to the Control Panel, Gestetner has designed a highly intu-
itive Control Panel that enables users to quickly execute functions.
For instance, to the right, you see clearly labeled "Start,"
"Clear/Stop" and "Copy" keys.
Users will also appreciate the dedicated "Memory Trans." key,
so they can easily toggle between Immediate and Memory
Transmission. On competitive units, this feature is often buried
under multiple layers of function menus.
In the center of the Control Panel is the 2-line x 22-character LCD
(liquid crystal display) that guides you through tasks and informs
you of the system's status. When the display reads: "Ready, Set
Orig./Enter No.," the unit is in standby mode. The current time is
also displayed. "100%" means that the entire internal document
memory is available for storage of documents. If I were to scan a
fax into memory, which I'll be doing in a few minutes, you will
notice that the percentage of available memory is reduced.
If you wish to perform a task, such as program a Quick Dial, you
press the key labeled "User Tools." I'll press the cursor right (with
arrow key) once and the display reads: "Fax Features." That's what
I want so I'll press OK. I then just follow the display prompts to
select the desired Quick Dial Key, enter the fax number and company
name. It's that simple. To exit from the program function, I press
User Tools again, and the light goes off.
A dedicated Help key on the Gestetner F104 Series allows users to
print a two-page Help List which outlines steps for frequently-used
functions such as printing Speed Dial, Quick Dial and User Function
Key lists or the Journal. Just press Help and then Start.
The 10 User Function Keys, F1 through F10, come preprogrammed
with frequently used features, such as Print Journal, Fax Header
Print, Group Dial, E-mail Message, Internet Fax, JPEG, Scan to
E-mail, etc. If you like, you can program these keys with other
functions, for example Duplex Copy.
Or, you may want to batch transmissions during the day and
transmit them after-hours on one call, versus multiple. Batch
Transmission is an easy way to cut phone costs when sending
multiple (non-time-sensitive) documents to one location.
