C atalytic C onverter

Your M ercedes-B enz is equipped
with m onolithic type catalytic
converters, an im portant elem ent
in conjunction with the oxygen
sensor to achieve substantial
control of the pollutants in the
exhaust em issions. Keep your
vehicle in proper operating
condition by follow ing our
recom m ended m aintenance
instructions as outlined in your
M aintenance Booklet.

Caution!
To prevent dam age to the ca ta ­
lytic converters, use o nly prem ium
unleaded gasoline in this vehicle.
Any noticeable irregularities in
engine operation should be re­
paired prom ptly. O therw ise,
e xcessive unburned fuel m ay
reach the catalytic converter
causing it to overheat.
W arning!
As w ith any vehicle, do not
idle, park or operate this ve­
hicle in areas w h ere com bus­
tib le m aterials such as grass,
hay or leaves can com e into
contact w ith the hot exhaust
system , as th e s e m aterials
could be ignited.
