W indshield W asher Fluid Mixing
Ratio
For tem peratures above freezing:
M B W indshield W asher
C oncentrate " S " and w ater
1 part " S " to 100 parts w ater
(40 ml " S " to 1 gallon water).
For tem perature below freezing:
MB W indshield W asher C oncen­
trate " S " and co m m ercially
available prem ixed w indshield
w asher s o lve n t/a n tifre e ze
1 part " S " to 100 parts solvent
(40 ml " S " to 1 gallon solvent).
W indshield W ip er Sm ears
If the w indshield w iper sm ears the
w indshield, even during rain,
activate the w asher system as
often as necessary. The fluid in
the w asher reservoir should be
m ixed in the co rrect ratio.

Blocked W indshield W ip er
If the w indshield w iper becom es
blocked (for exam ple, due to
snow), sw itch off the w iper m otor.
For safety reasons before re­
m oving ice or snow, rem ove key
from steering lock. R em ove
blockage.
A ctivate com bination sw itch again
(key in steering lock position 1).
E m ergency O peration of
W indshield W iper
In case of w ind shield w iper m al­
function in sw itch positions I or III,
turn com bination sw itch to w iper
setting II.
Flave the system checked at your
authorized M ercedes-B enz dealer
as soon as possible.
Signaling Turns with Hazard
W arning Flasher in Use
For exam ple, when the vehicle is
being tow ed (key in steering lock
turned to position 2):
W ith hazard w arning flasher on,
activate com bination sw itch for left
or right turn signal - only the
selected turn signal w ill blink.
Upon canceling the turn signal,
the hazard w arning flasher will
operate again.
Turn Signal Failure
If one of the turn signals fails, the
turn signal indicator system
flashes and sounds at a faster
than norm al rate. In addition, the
exterior lam p failure indicator will
com e on.
