Caution
Non-filtered or incorrectly lubricated compressed air will
reduce the service life of the valve terminal.
Caution
Too much residual oil content in the compressed air will
reduce the service life of the valve terminal.
– If bio oils are used (oils based on synthetic ester or nat-
ive ester, e.g. rape oil methylic ester), the residual oil
content must not exceed
3
0.1 mg/m
must not be exceeded (
2).
– If mineral oils are used (e.g. HLP oils to DIN 51524 Part 1
to 3) or corresponding oils based on polyalphaolefin
(PAO), the residual oil content of max. 5 mg/m
not be exceeded (
This avoids operative malfunction of the valves.
A higher residual oil content is not permitted, irrespective of
the compressor oil, as otherwise the basic lubrication will be
washed out in the course of time.
If possible, operate your system with non-lubricated com-
pressed air. This will not pollute the environment. Pneumatic
valves and actuators from Festo are designed so that, if used
as designated, they will not require additional lubrication and
will still achieve a long service life.
