Flapper (Sail)
Classic 115:
The fl apper, located within the housing at the blower
discharge, works in conjunction with the air proving
switch in proving that proper air fl ow has been achieved
by the fan and motor before allowing an ignition cycle to
continue.
If the fl apper is binding, its arm will not engage the air
proving switch and ignition will not occur. Ensure the fl ap-
per lifts freely, that it does not bind on the fan housing and
that it is free of dust and other debris.

Thermocouple

1. Remove pilot shield. Classic 115: see Fig. 31. See Fig.
32 for Classic 60.
2. Pull the pilot assembly slightly away from the burner
and then pull fi rmly down on the thermocouple to disen-
gage it from the pilot bracket. See Fig. 33, Classic 115
shown.
3. Remove the thermouple's lead connector nut at the gas
control valve. See Fig. 34.

• When threading the thermocouple's connector nut back
into the power unit on the gas control valve, thread the
nut in fi nger tight and snug it in place with a wrench.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN OR USE UNNECESSARY
FORCE ON THE NUT WHEN TIGHTENING.
• Ensure the thermocouple is completely pushed up
within the pilot bracket after servicing.
