Maintenance Instructions

BEFORE EACH USE:
1. The heater's surrounding area shall be kept clear
and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and
other fl ammable vapors and liquids.
2. Regulators must be periodically inspected to make
sure the regulator vents are not blocked. Debris,
insects, insect nests, snow, or ice on a regulator
can block vents and cause excess pressure at the
appliance.
3. Review all heater markings (ie. warnings, start-up/
shutdown, electrical wiring, diagrams, etc.) for
legibility. Ensure that none are cut, torn, or
otherwise damaged. Any damaged markings must
be replaced immediately by contacting L.B. White
Co., Inc. Markings are available at no cost.
4. Inspect gas hoses for nicks, cuts, or corroded
fi ttings. Replace the complete gas hose assembly
if defects are found.
5. Inspect the heater's electrical connections. Re-
place any terminals that are corroded or wires that
are nicked or cut.
6. Leak check the heater before use, after service, or
repair, and if the heater has been relocated.
ANNUALLY:
1. Have your gas supplier check all gas piping an-
nually for leaks or restrictions in gas lines. Also,
at this time have your gas supplier clean out
the sediment trap of any debris that may have
accumulated.
2. Regulators can wear out and function improperly.
Have your gas supplier check the date codes
on all regulators installed and check delivery
pressures to the appliance to make sure that the
regulator is reliable.
3. Check the heater's manual reset high limit switch
according to instructions in this manual.
