Testing the thermocouple:
-- Obtain a volt /ohm meter and set the meter to the
continuity scale.
-- Place the probes at both ends of the thermocouple.
-- The meter should exhibit readings of approximately 1
ohm or less. A reading showing high resistance or an
overload condition indicates a defective thermocouple.

3. Blow off the top of the pilot orifi ce to clean out as much
dirt as possible.
4. Servicing the pilot orifi ce:
-- Remove the pilot tube from the inlet of the pilot
orifi ce See Fig. 35.
-- Remove the pilot orifi ce from the pilot bracket.
-- Hold the orifi ce up to the light to see if the holes
in the orifi ce are open. If not, clean with air or
replace.
-- See Fig. 36 for comparison. Ensure the proper
pilot orifi ce is installed for the fuel being used.
(Note the number stamped on the fl at of the orifi ce

Classic 115:
Ensure the pilot gasket is located as shown in Fig. 38,
and is not torn. A missing or damaged gasket will cause
a pilot outage to occur when the blower motor is operat-
ing. Ensure the gasket is properly positioned on the
burner before after servicing the pilot or at reassembly
of the pilot assembly.
