REAR BRAKE
Disc brake components rarely require
disassembly. Do not disassemble com-
ponents unless absolutely necessary. If
' "
any hydraulic connection in the system is
opened, the entire system should be
disassembled, drained, cleaned, and then
properly filled and bled upon reassembly.
Do not use solvents on brake internal
components. Solvents will cause seals to
swell and distort. Use only clean brake
fluid for cleaning. Use care with brake
fluid. Brake fluid can injure your eyes, and
it will damage painted surfaces and
plastic parts.
Brake Pad Replacement
It is not necessary to disassemble the brake
caliper and brake hose to replace the brake
pads.
1. Remove the retaining bolt from the
caliper cylinder. Then remove the pads
and pad spring.

2. Follow the "Front Brake Pad Replace-
ment 3 and 4".
Caliper Disassembly
Refer to "FRONT BRAKE".
Master Cylinder Disassembly
1. Loosen the locknut and remove the
master cylinder securing bolts.
Disconnect the brake hoses.

2. Remove the master cylinder from brake
pedal by turning master cylinder rod.
3. Remove the master cyilnder kit parts.

Brake Assembly
Caliper
Refer to "Front Brake Assembly".
Master cylinder
1. Reverse
the
applicable
disassembly
steps.
Master cylinder bolt:
20 Nm (2.0 m'kg, 14 ft·lbl
Brake hose union bolt:
26 Nm (2.6 m'kg, 19 ft·lbl
Bleeding the brakes
Refer to "Front Brake Bleeding the Brakes".
