Rear axle ring nut
Apply locking agent (LOCTITE®) to
ring nuts threads
1 st: Tighten the inside ring nut
55 Nm (5.5 m' kg, 40 ft
'Ib)
2nd: Tighten the outside ring nut while
holding the inside ring nut
190 Nm (19 m' kg, 140 ft
'Ib)
3rd: Loosen the inside ring nut while
holding the outside ring nut
240 Nm (24 m' kg, 170 ft 'Ib)
WARNING:
Always use the new cotter pin on the ax-
le nut.

DRIVE CHAIN
1. Remove the change pedal and drive
sprocket cover.
2. Remove the master link clip and discon-
nect the drive chain.
3. Inspect the teeth on the rear sprocket; if
they are worn as shown in the illustra-
tions below, replace the sprockets and
chain as a set.
