This device allows 2020, which is capable of serial communication,
to communicate with a parallel device. This will be most useful for
printing, as most printers utilize parallel communications.
The printer must have a printing width of at least 65 characters and
must use fixed spaced fonts. The serial communication parameters
on 2020 have been fixed at 9600 baud, no parity, 8 data bits and 1
stop bit. Your converter must be set to match these settings.

DIP Switch Settings ConverterDIP Switches

The DIP switch settings are very important and must be set
correctly in order to correctly communicate with 2020. 2020 will
always be the serial device so the data flow direction will be serial to
parallel.
To configure the serial port of the converter:
1. Locate the DIP switches located on the side of the
converter.

2. Determine the baud rate at which the converter will be
receiving data from the instrument. The value you set
here must match 2020.
3. Use the first three DIP switches to set the baud rate to
9600. See Table 5.
