Printer
The printer must have a printing width of at least 65 characters and
must use fixed spaced fonts. The serial communication parameters
on 2020 have been fixed at 9600 baud, no parity, 8 data bits and 1
stop bit. Your printer must be able to match these settings.
If you are using a parallel printer, you will need the serial to parallel
converter (Part No. MX380145). See page 96 for details of
connecting and operating 2020 with a serial to parallel converter.
NOTE: 2020 is not classified for use in hazardous locations with a
printer.
To connect your instrument to a printer:
1. Turn 2020 off.
NOTE: You must turn the instrument off before connecting or
disconnecting the printer cable.
2. Connect the printer cable (Part No. MX350011) to the
I/O port on the back of the 2020 and then to the serial
port on the printer.
3. Turn 2020 on.
4. The serial communication parameters on 2020 have
been fixed. It communicates at 9600 baud, no parity, 8
data bits and 1 stop bit. You must set your printer
accordingly.
