Step B2 : The dampening panels / discs used in this step are laser cut lexan pieces (two circles).
They have a protective covering that needs to be removed from both sides before assembly.
You can also break the two circles apart. The yellow powder is residue from the laser cutting
process.
Remove plastic covering from both sides
When the laser cuts, the covering melts into the cut edge which can make removal difficult. If
you gently scrape the cut edge with a flat blade screwdriver or scissors, the covering can easily
be lifted and peeled off.
Take a look at the following three images. Install the mechanical dampening panels as shown
using four 2-56 x ¼" machine screws. Be sure to add the discs to the correct sides and ensure
the holes in the upper disk line up with the holes in the lower disk. We suggest placing the side
around the edge of a table to allow you to press down when screwing to ensure there is no gap
between the Lexan and the aluminum (without deforming the bracket). This will force thread the
screw into the Lexan.
