Fan Headers
The X9SKV-B915 Motherboard Series
has six 4-pin fan headers.Pins 1~3 of
the fan headers are backward com-
patible with the traditional 3-pin fans,
however 4-pin fans must be used to
provide variable fan speed control via
BIOS. Refer to the table on the right
for pin defi nitions.
Note: The variable fan speed is
controlled by Thermal Management
in BIOS (Advanced Settings). The
default setting is Disabled.
Serial Ports
Two COM headers (COM1, COM2)
are provided on the motherboard.
COM1 is located on the back I/O
panel. The COM2 header is located
just next USB 2/3 to provide an ad-
ditional onboard serial port. See the
table on the right for pin defi nitions.
Internal Speaker/Buzzer
The Internal Speaker on SP1 can be
used to provide audible indications for
various beep codes. See the table on
the right for pin defi nitions. Refer to
the layout below for the locations of
the Internal Buzzer (SP1).
Chassis Intrusion
A Chassis Intrusion header is located
at JL1 on the motherboard. Attach the
appropriate cable from the chassis to
inform you of a chassis intrusion when
the chassis is opened.
