Determining Use of Ground Control

4-Point Application

If the GVWR of the trailer is less than 15,500 lbs. and the distance between the center of the landing gear foot and the center of the
rear jack foot will be less than 20 feet (Fig. 1).

6-Point Application
If the GVWR of the trailer is 15,500 lbs. or greater or the distance between the center of the landing gear foot and the center of the
rear jack foot will be 20 feet or greater (Fig. 2).

Note: If either the GVWR is greater than 15,500 lbs. or the distance on center between the landing gear jack foot and the rear jack
foot is 20 feet or greater, the 6-point Ground Control® System MUST be installed.
