Installing Memory

Note: Check the Supermicro web site for recommended memory modules.
Exercise extreme care when installing or removing DIMM modules
Installing DIMMs
1. Insert the desired number of DIMMs into the memory slots, starting with slots
DIMM1A. Pay attention to the notch along the bottom of the module to pre-
vent inserting the DIMM module incorrectly. See Figure 5-4.
2. Gently press down on the DIMM module until it snaps into place in the slot.
Repeat fstep 1 to install to DIMM1B if needed.
Memory Support
The X9DRD-LF Motherboard Supports up to 256 GB of Registered/Unbuffered ECC
or LRDIMM DDR3 1600/1333/1066/800 MHz memory in four channel memory via
a memory buffer. For the latest memory updates, please refer to our website a at
http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard.
To Install: Insert module
vertically and press
down until it snaps into
place. Pay attention to
the alignment notch at
the bottom.
To Remove:
Use your thumbs to
gently push the release
tabs near both ends of
the module. This should
release it from the slot.
CAUTION
to prevent any possible damage.
