Explanation
Type of control board. See BCU.
Type of control unit.
The BCU is used to control inverter units of frame sizes R8i and up. It is
connected to the inverter modules using fiber optic cables.
The external I/O control signals of the inverter unit are mostly connected to the
BCU, or optional I/O extensions mounted onto it.

and ZCU.
Internal power supply board in frame R8i modules. The BDPS is a double-fed
(AC/DC) power supply which internally powers the circuit boards of the
module. The board switches between the AC (connector X50) and DC (main
DC terminals) supplies automatically. The board switches from AC to DC
always when the DC voltage is above 300 V.
Type of a power supply and control board for the speed-controlled cooling fan
in frame R8i modules. The BFPS is located in the fan control box below the
main cooling fan of the module.
Conducts the surplus energy from the intermediate circuit of the drive to the
brake resistor when necessary. The chopper operates when the DC link
voltage exceeds certain maximum limit. The voltage rise is typically caused by
deceleration (braking) of a high inertia motor.
Common mode filtering
One section of a cabinet-installed drive. A cubicle is typically behind a door of
its own.
DC circuit between supply unit and inverter unit(s)
Energy storage which stabilizes the intermediate circuit DC voltage. Contained
within the inverter module.
