    2: What’s new and different? Overview of the changes The WCD 3100 is our next generation of wearable defibrillator. The essential difference is that there’s no more alarm module. The functions that were on the alarm module have either been incorporated into the monitor or eliminated.

For instance, there is no RECORD button, no TRANSMIT button, and no OK button. These functions are handled in other ways, explained later in this manual.

    LifeVest System WCD 3100 Training Manual How to baseline a patient As with the WCD 3000, the 3100 monitor’s arrhythmia detection algorithm uses the patient’s baseline ECG as a template to help determine if a treatable arrhythmia exists. When you set up a new patient, the monitor automatically goes into the baseline mode when you exit the setup mode or the next time the system powers up.

    LifeVest System WCD 3100 Training Manual How to send data Since there’s no TRANSMIT button, how do you send data? The answer: the system automatically sends data when you connect it to a modem. Instruct patients to connect the modem in the right order. Here’s how: FIRST connect the modem to the phone line.
