After the IO libraries have been successfully installed, you have the option of
starting 'Connection Expert' or closing the installation wizard. If you choose to
start Connection Expert, continue with the "Interface Configuration" section
of this chapter. Otherwise, continue with instrument driver installation as
described below.

Installing Instrument Drivers

Interchangeable Virtual Instrument (IVI) drivers are available for program-
ming the 34945A using Microsoft development environments, Agilent VEE,
or National Instruments LabVIEW (see Table 3-1). Insert the Agilent
34980A Product Reference CD-ROM into your computer. The installation pro-
gram will open the window shown in Figure 3-1.

If another vendor's implementation of VISA (Virtual Instrument Software
Architecture) is currently installed on your computer, continue installation of the
Agilent IO Libraries by installing Agilent VISA in side-by-side mode. More
information on side-by-side operation can be found in the "IO Libraries Suite
Help" (available after installation is complete) under "Using Agilent's and Other
Vendors' Products Together".
Installing the Agilent IO Libraries also installs the Interchangeable Virtual
Instrument (IVI) Shared Components. The IVI Shared Components are required
before IVI drivers (e.g. IVI-COM, IVI-C) can be installed from the 34980A Product
Reference CD.
