Observe Only / Allow Full Control
These settings disable/enable control of the 34945EXT from the Web interface.
When 'Observe Only' is set, many of the features programmable from the dialog
boxes (Configure Bank 1..., Configure Module..., etc.) are disabled.
Viewing Remote Modules
Remote modules are the 34945EXT modules connected to the 34945A (Figure
2-1). 34945EXT modules are numbered according to their position in the
daisy-chain sequence relative to the master 34945EXT which is EXT number 1.
The 34980A can support up to eight 34945EXT modules. The remote module
currently selected is the one configured by the interface.
Remote Module (34945EXT) Configuration Window
The remote module (34945EXT) configuration window provides settings that
apply to all banks (i.e. distribution boards) on the EXT module.
These settings include:
• channel drive source - this is the source of the power supply for the EXT
• number of simultaneous operations - this sets the number of simultaneous

module. For the master 34945EXT, valid sources are off, internal, and
external. For all slave 34945EXTs, valid sources are off and external.
Note that the channel drive source must be off prior to configuring
individual switches or attenuators (see "Switch/Attenuator Channel
Configuration Window").
channel activations (open/close) per command. For example, given a list of
four channels and a specified number of four operations, a single open or
close command will attempt to open/close all four channels simultaneously.
