Pairing Channels

With dual-coil devices, the channels in the bank are paired during a bank
preset. Pairing channels allows settings and control to be shared between the
two channels. When paired, channels 1-8 are paired with 11-18 (bank 1), 21-28
with 31-38 (bank 2), 41-48 with 51-58 (bank 3), and 61-68 with 71-78 (bank 4).
For example, a preset of bank 1 (Chapter 4) with an applicable distribution
board or sending the command:
ROUTe:CHANnel:DRIVe:PAIRed:MODE ON, (@1101)
pairs channel 1 and channel 11. A bank preset pairs all channels in a bank as
would the command sent to bank 1:
ROUTe:CHANnel:DRIVe:PAIRed:MODE ON, (@1101:1108)
As mentioned in Chapter 2, paired channels are controlled by a single
command and only the lower channel of the pair is specified. Thus, the settings
provided by the following commands:
ROUTe:CHANnel:DRIVe:PULSe:WIDTh
ROUTe:CHANnel:DRIVe:TIMe:RECovery
ROUTe:CHANnel:DRIVe:TIMe:SETTle
ROUTe:CHANnel:VERify:ENABle
apply to both channels in the pair.

Paired Drive With Separate Position Indicators

The simplified schematic below illustrates the connection for a dual coil switch
with separate position indicators. The position indicators for this type of
switch are independent relay contacts that are mechanically linked to the RF
switch position.
The RF paths are not shown in the simplified diagram. The coils are driven in
open collector mode. The position indicator is set so that a high level indicates
an active switch. The logic level of the position indicator can be inverted using
the
As shown, Channel 01 was pulsed to close Coil A. The corresponding position
indicator also closed. Closing position indicator A opens position indicator B.
