AN ADJUSTMENT OF THE SLIDE

MORE SLACK THAN NECESSARY TO RELIEVE THE

(except on vehicles with Unibelt
system)

and is handy
for reuse.

two door models
the

mounted retractor
assembly ca
n
be
swiveled
toward the rea
r
of
the
ca
r
to
allow
eas ie
r
en
try
into
the
rear
seat.
However,
to
permit the fro nt
seat occupant
to
reach
the
belt latc
h
plate the retractor
assembly should be
pushed
a
lilh
e way
forwa
rd
once
the
rear scat
is
occupied.
Front and
Rear
Lap Belts
(all models)
The center
front and rear
seating
positions
arc equipped with lap
belts
only. (Rear seat shou
lder belts
are avai lab le at your
dealer).
The
lap
belts
should
be
worn w
ith
the upper
edge of
the belt drawn
across
the thighs and
snug aga
in
st
the hips. To lengthen
t
he belt.
tilt
the
latch p late
re lative to (he webbing
and pull to
the desired
length.
To
reduce the risk
of s liding
under the belt
in
a collision.

Withdraw

he belt from the retractor in

motion, forward and
upward
away from

seat,
until
the
be
lt
is
extended as
far as
possible. Bling the
belt ac
ro
ss
the body
and
insert the latch plate in
the
buck
le
until
a c
lick is heard.
Tighten
the belt
by pull
ing
t
he
webbi ng
back toward.
a
nd
into,
the
retractor unti
l
the be
lt fits
snugly on
the hips.
Never
lise the same lap
belt
on more than one person
at a
time.
