Every 15,000 Miles
Radiator Hose Clamps
Some ca rs use " two-wi re/screw" type radia tor hose clamps. This
type of clamp sho uld be tightened "screwdrive r tight" eve ry 12
months or 15,000 miles.
Throttle Control System
T he bearing areas of the engine mounted bell crank pivot pin on a ll
models with 6 cyl inde r engines and automatic transmission should
be lub ricated o nce a year with M ultipurpose

mission only). s hou ld be lubricated once a yea r with Multipurpose

Note: All accumulated dust and dirt should be r emoved from the
areas to
be
lubricated
by
wiping with a clean, dry cloth before new
lubricant is applied.
Every 25,000 Miles
FRONT WHEEL BEARING
The lubricant in the front whee l bearings s hould be inspected at
least once every 25 ,000 mil es. or whenever the roto rs are removed
to inspect or service the brake system . The bearings s hou ld be
cleaned and repacked whe never the disc brake rotors are res ur·
faced. Repack the bea rings with Multi-Purpose Grease , NLG I
Grade 2, E P.
Severe Service
For severe se rvice veh icles , (i. e., taxi and police veh icles involving
frequent or co ntinu ous brake application) wheel bearings sho uld be
inspected w he neve r the d rum s o r rotors are removed to inspect or
service the brake system. Clea n and repack the bearings w ith a high
temperat ure wheel bearing grease wheneve r brake pads o r linings
are replaced or at least eve ry 10.000 miles, wh ichever comes first.
Inspection
C heck lu bricant to see that it is adeq uate in quant ity and qu a lity. If
the grease is low in quantity , co nta ins d irt , appears dry or has been
contaminated with wate r to produce a milky a ppearance, the bear·
ings s hou ld be cleaned a nd repacked. DO NOT ADD GREASE
TO T H E WH EEL BEAR INGS. RELUBRICATE COM-
PLETELY.
Relubrication
Discard the o ld seal. Thoroughl y c lea n the o ld lu bricant from the
bearings and from the hub cavity. Inspect the rollers for signs of
pitting o r o ther sU lface distress. Light bearing discoloration could
be co nsidered normal. Bearings shou ld be replaced if any defects
ex is t. Repack the beari ngs with Multipurpose Grease . NLGI
Grade 2, E.P. Mopar Multi·M il eage Lubricant a nd Mopar Front
Whee l Bearing Grease (Hig h Temperature) a re greases of this type
and a re recommended for norma l service. For seve re service ,
