* The following test condition terminology was used in the 1692 IP Conference Phone
802.3af/PoE Power Classification calculations:
•
Typical - The 1692 phone was setup as described in the Idle State; the maximum number of
calls was established for each Unit Under Test (UUT); The Handsfree transducer was
activated for each UUT and was set to maximum volume; A reference tone at 1500Hz -6dBF
was sent to each UUT; The LCD displayed the Diagnostic screen during the test.
•
Typical - Idle - The phone has completed the boot-up process; The LCD Backlight (where
applicable) was set to maximum brightness; There was no call state established.
•
Worse Case - The 1692 phone was setup as described in the Typical State; the maximum
number of calls was established for each Unit Under Test (UUT); The Handsfree transducer
was activated for each UUT and was set to maximum volume; a reference tone at 1500Hz -
6dBF was sent to each UUT; The LCD displayed the Diagnostic screen during the test. The
worse case power level is inclusive of the two, optional 1692 extension microphones being
connected and active. CDP Advertisement — the power requirements for CDP reported by
the endpoint/device running the minimum release of supported software.
•
Power consumption measured using Power over Ethernet IEEE802.3af standard powering —
the measurements were taken as an average of six IEEE802.3af compliant PoE switches;
the power consumption using AC/DC Adapters is similar to above, but must account for
approximately 72% efficiency rating from AC source. Power consumption measured at the
endpoint/device — 7ft maximum length LAN cord to PoE switch; 2.45W maximum power
loss allowable over 100m cable lengths.
