Avaya 1692 supports DHCP SSON 242 by default. It can be configured to any
other value as per DHCP standards.

Configuring the Avaya 1692 IP Conference Phone

Overview

Regardless of whether or not you will be using a file server, you must perform basic TCP/IP
network setup, such as IP address, subnet mask and router configuration, to get your
organization's phones up and running.
Basic network settings can be changed by pressing the hard * key when "Press * to program" is
displayed after the 1692 boots up.

Automatic (DHCP) Configuration

A brand new phone using R1.1, can be configured and will successfully initialize without requiring
any manual intervention if the following steps are taken:
1.
The DHCP server is properly configured with the correct options as explained above.
2.
The file server type is HTTP, the default setting on the conference phone.
3.
The software is loaded on the file server per the requirements in the upgrade
procedure outlined below.
