Troubleshooting for Document Paper Feeding Problems

4.3.1 Multiple documents are fed

<User Check>
- Check that paper used for the document is not thinner than the standard. If it is too thin,
use a carrier sheet.
- Check that the document is not damp. If it is damp, dry it or use a carrier sheet.
- Check that the machine is not scanning a glossy paper used in magazines and others.

- Check that the document guide is adjusted to suit the document size.
- Check that the document is not curled.
Step
1 Abrasion of the pick-up roller
Cause
Reset the double feeding sensor threshold.
Reconnect the double feeding sensor
harness.
Reattach the separation spring.
Reattach the separation arm.
Replace the separation pad.
Replace the pick-up roller ASSY.
Replace the separation pad cover.
Replace the separation spring.
Replace the separation arm.
Replace the double feeding sensor.
Cause
Replace the pick-up roller ASSY.
