5.4.1.1 Acquisition Mode

The AcquisitionMode property controls the acquisition mode of the device. It defines the number of
frames captured during the acquisition and the way the acquisition stops. It can take any of the values
shown in Table 30.
Description
Value
Frames are captured continuously until stopped by the
Continuous
AcquisitionStop command
The camera captures only one frame and stops the
SingleFrame
acquisition
The camera captures a specific number of frames set by the
MultiFrame
AcquisitionFrameCount property and stops the acquisition

5.4.1.2 Acquisition Frame Rate

The AcquisitionFrameRate property is a feature which limits the frequency at which images are captured
by the camera. Using the AcquisitionFrameRate feature it is possible to decrease the number of frames the
camera acquires and transmits in free run mode, which consequently lowers the bandwidth required by the
camera.
This feature is useful in situations where the link bandwidth is limited, like in applications where several
GigE Vision cameras stream images to PC via switch and there is single Gigabit Ethernet link connecting
switch and NIC on PC.
Setting the AcquisitionFrameRate property to zero effectively disables the feature, allowing the camera to
acquire and transfer images at maximum frame rate.

5.4.2 Trigger Features

The Trigger Features chapter describes features related to synchronizing the camera with an external device
or software application.

5.4.2.1 Trigger Selector

The TriggerSelector property provides access to the properties of different triggers supported by the
camera, as shown in Table 31.
