When you change the setting from Auto to Manual during performance monitoring and tier
relocation is executing, the operation is cancelled and is not performed since then.

If Auto is selected from the Cycle Time list, select the cycle of performance monitoring and tier
relocation.
4.
Click Finish.
The Confirm window appears.
5.
In the Task Name text box, enter the task name.
You can enter up to 32 ASCII characters and symbols in all, except for \ / : , ; * ? " < > |.
The value "date-window name" is entered by default.
6.
In the Confirm window, click Apply to register the setting in the task.
If the Go to tasks window for status check box is selected, the Tasks window appears.

Changing monitoring mode settings

Prerequisites
The Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role is required to perform this task.
Procedure
1.
Open the Edit Pools window.
In Command View Advanced Edition:
a.
On the Resources tab, click Storage Systems, and then expand All Storage Systems.
b.
Expand the target storage system and click THP Pools.
c.
In the THP Pools tab, select a pool, and then click Edit Pool.
d.
In the Edit Pool window, expand Smart Pool Settings.
e.
In Monitoring mode, select Periodic or Continuous.
If you want to perform tier relocation using the monitor results from the prior cycle, select
Periodic Mode. If you want to perform tier relocation weighted to the past period
monitoring result, select Continuous Mode.
In Remote Web Console:
a.
Click Storage Systems, and then expand the Storage Systems tree.
b.
Click Pools.
c.
In the Pools tab, click More Actions, then select Edit Pools.
d.
In the Edit Pools window, expand Options for Multi-Tier Pool.
e.
Click Monitoring Mode and select Period Mode or Continuous Mode.
If you want to perform tier relocation using the monitor results from the prior cycle, select
Period Mode. If you want to perform tier relocation weighted to the past period monitoring
result, select Continuous Mode.

Click Finish.
The Confirm window appears.
